Review of men’s singing groups from Croatia

Every year, at the beginning of November, in the small hall of the Open University, the traditional Review of Men’s Singing Groups of Croatia is organized by the cultural-artistic association “Ogranak seljačke sloge” P. Bregi and the Open University of Ivanić-Grad. The participants of the review are men’s signing groups who, on an amateur level, preserve old songs of their regions and the manner of their performance. About ten men’s singing groups from different parts of Croatia join the review every year. The review is sponsored by the City of Ivanić-Grad, the Ministry of Culture, the Zagreb County and the Tourist Board of Ivanić-Grad. BBC shot a TV shows covering traditional singing in Croatia, which shows how valuable this review actually is.
